Ready for Christmas in Stockholm

How nice it is to be home to spend my holiday with my family. I still have lots of things to do before Christmas but I'd like to show you this apartment in Stockholm before I start my busy day.

Located in Östermalm, a large district in central Stockholm, Sweden, it is all ready for Christmas. Gustavian furniture, gilded mirrors and a soft palette of greys and whites define this lovely home.

Christmas Inspired Home

Today we are visiting a lovely stone house in Spain decorated for Christmas in greens, whites and silvers. Enjoy!


Two Christmas trees flank the entrance door.


Now this is a lovely idea, an old bike with a basket painted red and just leaning against the wall as a Christmas decoration.






Silver and white vignette on the demi-lune console in the entryway.


It's not that I'm patronizing, but as I'm showing this picture I feel a disclaimer necessary: as much as I love the candles leading the way upstairs, it's a fire hazard and shouldn't be copied. If you can't resist the idea then at least put them in a hurricane or lantern. If there are children or pets around simply don't. There are many other ways you can decorate your stairs!

Chirstmas in the Air #2

This is my second (and I'm sure it will not be the last) Christmas inspired post of the year. Previous posts here and last year's posts can be found here, here, here, and this post which is particularly lovely and has a beautiful, very simple and original decoration craft for my crafty friends. There is also a floating Christmas tree if you'd like to see it.

Located on the outskirts of Madrid, this is a decidedly fun house. The owners, Carlos Arriaga who is a painter and photographer and his wife, an interior designer, created a cheerful home full of fun ideas. Tour time, sweets!


An original Christmas tree stands by one of the living room's big windows.


In nearly every room of the house you will see framed photographs and paintings by owner Carlos Arriaga.


The round side table was purchased in Florence, Italy.

Christmas in the Air

I love it when it when I start feeling that Christmas is in the air, don't you? Signs of Christmas getting near start popping around and it makes me feel all happy and warm knowing that my favourite time of the year is just around the corner.
In this Scandinavian home small festive details reminds us that Christmas is on its way. Are you already getting ready for the holidays?


Coloured candles in a wreath on the coffee table.


The table is set with sparkling tumblers, sprouting bulbs and dry twigs strewn on the tablecloth. These white painted Gustavian chairs with striped fabric are a dream.


Simple branches from the garden in a clear glass vase.
