Most Beautiful House 2011 Finalist

This Swiss home in Blaker, is the fifth and last finalist in Bolig magazine contest Most Beautiful House 2011. Built in 1877, it was restored by the owner's granddaughter, Tone.


















I know this is a copy of the second photograph but I just wanted you to meet Tone.
I will surely be posting the other 4 finalist's homes.

House in Oslo

Hello sweets! Had a nice weekend?



Today's house was built in 1914 and is one of a row of townhouses made for the workers of a local factory. A green oasis in the city, it is located in Oslo and overlooks the Aker River.

White in Sweden

Built in 1909, this home is located just outside Nynäsham, in Sweden. Julia Khouris, owner of the online store Juliet White Dreams, has lived here with her husband and children since 2004. Just like her store, there are hundreds of shades of white in her home.

Waterfront Summer Home in Sweden

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my blog's second anniversary. With over 600 posts it really seems like much more!

So, here we are again with this summer house in Sweden. It was built in the 1920's and has been renovated and decorated by its owners.

Decorating With Whites

There's an interesting and quick to read article on tips for decorating with white in Country Living. Three renowned interior designers, Rachel Ashwell, Darryl Carter, and Suzzane Kasler give us advice on how to make a white room look warm and inviting. If you love looking at pictures of white rooms but are afraid to give it a try at home, you should definitely read this article.
After each decorator's photograph there are two of their rooms. If I had to choose one of their styles I think I prefer Darry Carter's. I'd love to hear which one you like best!
